Frequently Asked Questions

How are BoxOne greyhound picks selected?
Picks are generated by the GPFR (Greyhound Performance Factor Rankings) model, a machine learning system that evaluates every runner across Australian greyhound meetings. The top 5 runners ranked by z-score with odds between $1.80 and $2.50 are selected daily.
What does the GPFR z-score mean?
The z-score measures how many standard deviations a runner's GPFR rating sits above the field average. A higher z-score indicates stronger statistical separation from the competition. Picks are ranked by z-score descending.
What is the gap to second metric?
Gap to second measures the GPFR score difference between the top-rated runner and the second-rated runner in each race. A larger gap suggests the model has higher conviction in the selection.
When are daily picks published?
Picks are published each morning after the daily pipeline completes, typically around 10:00am AEST. Odds are sourced from the 8:30am steel market where available.
What odds range do picks cover?
Picks target the value range of $1.80 to $2.50. Only GPFR rank 1 runners (the model's top-rated dog in each race) within this odds band are considered.
Are New Zealand greyhound races included?
No. BoxOne covers Australian greyhound meetings only. New Zealand tracks are excluded from all picks, fields, and analysis.
